Bloons Tower Defense is a great game of strategy plus skill while keeping bloons as the main concept the game play is very different. It starts with an aerial view of a pathway with bloons entering the path from one end while if not popped they will escape from the other end. The balloons come in various colours from blue which is the fastest through to black the slowest and others in between. Sometimes the faster bloons when popped will contain slower bloons that also need destroying making it more challenging e.g. a blue bloon may contain a red bloon so it must be destroyed twice and so on. There is a panel at the side of the screen telling you exactly what your stats are regarding lives and money so you can gauge where to go next in the game.
The player has 40 lives to use up so you must pop all the bloons before the lives expire. Where does the tower defence come into it I can hear you asking? Well this is your defence to build towers from bombs, monkeys that fire darts or spikes. With each tower comes an upgrade such as a greater shooting area or larger bombs while you can choose the combination of upgrades to best suit your needs and therefore achieving your goal. There are 5 defence towers to choose from they are:
The first tower is by far the easiest to build being either a dart tower or spike tower. There are only red bloons floating along in round one while in rounds two and three there are also blue bloons which is easy enough to tackle. By rounds four and five there are more blue bloons but you should by this point be able to build another tower, a dart tower is advisable siting it at the top of the track so popping all the bloons. Rounds six, seven and eight sees the introduction of green bloons that are significantly faster speeding up the game.
Rounds nine and ten have even more green bloons but by the time you get to this point you should have at least 3 towers for your defence. Moving very swiftly to the top of the screen you need to waste no time eliminating this influx of green. By this point you should have gathered enough points to get yourself another tower. You should pick an ice tower or a bomb tower as both are advantageous so assisting you in your quest while cost wise the ice tower is the cheapest so may be the one to choose.
By round eleven the yellow bloons are introduced into the game. These bloons are extremely fast so will take all your skill and speed to eliminate them. Rounds twelve to fifteen all see more green and yellow bloons coming in thick and fast but as by now you should be able to afford an ice or bomb tower that you can upgrade to give you more attack power with the bomb tower or more freeze range plus strength with the ice tower, while round sixteen sees you able to buy yet another powerful upgrade for your defence tower.
So, in essence this new type of bloon game is one of skill plus strategy where your choices will influence how successful you are. All 37 rounds are exciting while compelling so you will not want to stop until you have completed the game and proved your skill and performance acumen.
